Shoveling It In....Literally!

Yup, that's our girl...eating her mush with a shovel! Whatever it takes to get some bites in her. We were glad the novelty wore off quickly!

Last Day in CA : (

Learning how to sharpen pencils with electric sharpener. Grandma now has the sharpest pencils in the West!

3 Generations!!!! Wow!!!!
We miss you both!!

Children's Museum

Who would have guessed! Santa Maria has a pretty darn good Children's Museum. Grandma took Hazel there to play and she had a blast.

Ready to plow the fields.

She loved the whale slide. As she slid down, it made a whale song.

Practing driving the boat for this summer's camp trip with her Uncles, Aunts, and cousins!!

Lucas and Carmen

Another beautiful day filled with good times with friends. We drove up to Avila and met Auntie Teresa and Lucas at the Avila Barn for lunch. Hazel just loves Lucas and had a blast playing in the sprinklers with him and looking at the animals. The top of the day was sharing a bench and eating ice cream cones!!

Chasing after Lucas! She's a little boy crazy???!!!

Then after nap Hazel went across the street and helped out our dear friend Carmen water her yard. After the trees got done, she decided everyone's toes needed to be watered too! By the end she was soaked and dried off in Carmen's house and talked with her and Mario and the kitties!

Non-stop Monday!

On our way to feed the ducks... Hazel helping Grammy get there.

Playing at the park.

Dino riding!

There is a great pizza place in Santa Maria called Klondike's. I never appreciated it as much as I do now having a little one. The beauty of it is this...unlimited peanuts that you shell and then throw the shells right onto the ground...perfect for all as you wait for your hot delicious pizza pie to arrive! This was Hazel's first experience with peanuts in the shell, so Grammy got to show her how to do it! She had so much fun.

Now she has it!!!

Tub Time

A trip to CA isn't complete, at least in Hazel's mind without some splashing in Auntie Donna's bath tub! This time she got to go in with Auntie Donna...FuN!

Hazel kept turning on the cold water and loving it!! Must be the Oregonian in her!!!

Auntie Donna didn't like the cold water soo much!!!

Pushing the jet button!

Sunday in Sunshine

Getting ready to ride Auntie Donna's motorcycle!

Little smoochie from Uncle Bob Bob....can hear the giggles and her voice saying "Bobbbbaa Bobbbaaa"!

Baby, Levi, Hazel and Grandma...just a bunch of swinging gals!!!

La Purisima Mission

Hazel and Uncle Bob Bob and "the nipper" horse. This guy kept trying to get Hazel's feet or Bob's hands.
After Santa Barbara and visit with Mimi and Billy we headed to Grammy and Auntie Donna's for the rest of the trip. Uncle Bob Bob and Auntie Carol came from the desert to see us. They had a great idea to take Hazel to the mission in Lompoc and walk around. We had a great time and soaked in the beautiful warm sunshine!

Auntie Carol and Uncle Bob showing Hazie J how to make soap out of the purple ceanothosis flowers. She loved it...water, smooshing up stuff...all the right pieces for any kid!

Okay, she spent a lot, I mean a lot of time playing with the dirt! I think she was fascinated with it was dry and the grains would fall through her fingers and it would blow away in the breeze. She couldn't figure out why it wasn't wet and clumpy and sticking to her hands.

A little "time out" for her....heee heee....just trying to be artistic.

Hazel inside the washing machine of the mission. It had two faces on the walls that she had fun looking at.

Cali Girl

Hazel and her Mimi.
We started May off with a trip to CA to see family and friends. Hazel and I landed in Santa Barbara after Hazel "flew the plane"...thanks to a VERY nice pilot. Auntie Donna and Grammy picked us up and the little puppy, Levi, was waiting for Hazel (thanks Julie!!). We met up with Mimi and Uncle Billy the next morning for breakfast by the beach. I have to say, Hazel looks the part of a true California girl in shorts, with her "sassy" hat (as she calls it), and her new puppy in his purple bag.

Cuddling up with Uncle Billy after a big breakfast and some running around.

Ring around the rosie with Mimi.

Oooopps...liked it so much put it up twice.

Thank You Auntie Carol and Uncle Bob Bob

Hazel was just crazy for her card that Auntie Carol made with her picture on it!

The budding little artist hard at work! Thanks for the art supplies!!
