Dollhouse

So this is truly the coolest dollhouse ever, right???  Well in my book it is.  This dollhouse is the same one that I played with as a girl, that my sister played with before me, that my Mom played with in NY city, and the same one that her cousin played with before her.   I get goose bumps thinking of it.  It had been living in my parent's attic since I outgrew it until my dear brother Bob restored it with love for his little niece.  He used the original hardwood floors and the glass windows. The furniture in it is the same that we played with and some are the originals that cousin Doris first furnished it with.  Oh, did I mention that this was not a dollhouse bought at a store years ago, but handmade.  Wow!!!  I get so excited thinking that my little girl will play with it now and hopefully will keep it and pass it on to her own.  Thanks Uncle Bob Bob!   You are the BEST!

Fam Jam Session

A Little of This and A Little of That

Wow, when did she grow up??

The entrepreneurs of the family.  The cousins had a lemonade stand at our garage sale.  They all had fun, worked well together, sold out of lemonade, and each made $1.50.

First, well okay, Second day of Pre-K.  I forgot the camera on day one!

Circus!!!  First one for Hazie and for me, too!  She had a blast!

Uh-huh, that's right.  She is riding on her "Pink Big Girl Bike".  She can really move this bike along.  I have to run to keep up with her when she really gets zooming.  (P.S.  thanks to Jo-Jo for the bike!).

One Girl Band

She's ready for her tour...just needs a roadie!!!

Kinetic Sculpture Race

We finally made it to the Kinetic Sculpture Race in Eureka this year.  It only took us 3 years of trying and planning but we made it to have some fun at the race and visit with some of the best people in the world...Uma Zuma, Itchy Mitchy, and Uncle Bucky!

Hiking at Trinidad...we lucked out and got one of the most beautiful May days along the Northern CA coast!  So clear, we watched dolphins swim by!!

Crazy little sculpture along the Eureka bay.  So aptly named...Joy

Okay, so you were thinking there should be some pics of these Kinetic Sculptures.  These were two of Hazel's favorites.   A pretty silver high heel shoe on the right and a red fire ant on the left. This is day 2, as they became amphibious.

Looked up and saw this amazing show in the sky!!
 Haze and her Uma Zuma!!
 Silly face at the beach!
How can you drive up the 101 and not stop in and get your pic with Paul and Babe???  It is a right of passage.

The happy trio!!!

Mother's Day

Hazel and Jim took me on a hike for Mother's Day in Ridgefield, WA.  We were looking for wild flowers.  Not too many, too early in the season still.

The hike was at a wildlife refuge, and there is a Plank House from a native american tribe.  Hazel had more fun walking in and out of it through the round doorway than she did on the hike.

This is a snapshot Hazel took of us.

Jim and Haze up the trail.

Always good to get big smooches from your girl!

Hula Hooping Girl

Hazel picked up hooping at our annual block party.  In our opinion it is one of the cutest things to watch...just see the sheer joy on her face!!!

Hazel's 4th Birthday

Birthday morning!  Up early, down stairs right away.  Birthday banner and balloons ready for her!
Hazel's party is this weekend and she wants a kitty cat cake-pink fur and brown ears.  We told her she could have a mini cake on her birthday, so we did a practice of her party cake.

Okay, here's the scoop!  Hazel loves Pippi Longstockings and she wants to do the things Pippi does.  Well, Pippi went to a party and was a little naughty and took a bite out of a creamy cake, leaving her covered in frosting.  I promised her she could do it on her birthday.  I made her a little cake of just whip cream and we let her stick her face in it!  Ahhh...to be 4!!

"I was hoping for a swing set for my birthday", said Hazel after we surprised her with one!  She was able to get out and play a little on it in between sprinkles and had tons of fun.  We are hoping she will keep enjoying it and we can do gardening while she plays!  Fingers crossed.

We took Hazel to Jantzen Beach Mall to ride the historic carousel there before it gets taken out while the mall gets a face-lift.  She rode it three times!!!  Who could say no to that face on her birthday???  Oh yeah, the rides were free this month!!!

Yes, more cake!!  This was the start of it today.  We brought mini cupcakes to her school for a party.  She got to wear the class crown to celebrate her birthday.

Check out those ruby earrings!  Thanks Auntie Donna for my new bling blings!  200+ pairs of stick on earrings!!

Monster feet stilts!  So much cooler than the coffee can ones I used as a kid (although I thought mine were the greatest!  Thanks Pop!)  Thanks Uncles Billy and Tom

Hazel's first big girl watch....Minnie Mouse with a rainbow band!  I love it Grammy!!

Spring in Portland?!?!?!

Second day of spring and we have SNOW!!!!! I am expecting us to receive full payback for this with a super wonderful spring and summer and fall this year!!!! Hazel of course didn't mind the snow, she wanted to go out in it right away this morning!!

Catching Up On Two Months...Sorry

Loving to dress up in some of the most creative outfits these days.

Ready for dance class with Lucy in a tutu too!

Hazie and I did the Shamrock Run last weekend. She completed a 1 K run and I did a 5 K. She is super proud of her "bib" number and t shirt.

This outfit is her ready for a "circus" with Pippi.

Hazie dressed as "Cowgirl Kate". One of her favorite books right now. I guess she thought the panda hat made her look like a cowgirl?!?!
