We started our visit to CA in LA to see Mimi and Uncles Billy and Tom! Had a second Christmas with them.
Beautiful...only word for the weather! We went to Santa Monica Pier and rode the ferris wheel and Hazel went on some other rides. This was a cool bumper car one...we love the bumper cars!
Feet in the warm sand and warm sunshine on us!
Really, is it December??
Having a little breakfast at Mimi's favorite spot, Victors, around the corner from her house.
Sniff, sniff...our time in LA ended. We had to say good-bye to Mimi and Uncles. Hardest of all was saying bye to Daddy, who had to go back to Portland for work. We took the train to Santa Barbara to meet up with Grammy and Auntie Donna for the second part of our visit.
Us crazy girls celebrating New Year's Eve. Hazel was firm on staying up until Midnight. Sure, why not, we are on vacation! She was asking, almost begging, to go to bed at 7:30pm! This is the girl who doesn't like to go to bed before 8:30pm and then takes usually until 9pm to fall asleep. We hurried and got all our party in, popper, fireworks, dancing and eating.
Auntie Donna's sweet friend, Julie, decorated their playhouse up as a Gingerbread house and hid surprises for Hazel in it. We had a lovely visit with her.
We had to have an "Adventure Girls" outing. We went to San Luis Obispo again to visit bubble Gum Ally and put some more chewed gum up. This time we had to take her Gingerbread girl there and take pictures for a school assignment. We met up with my friend, Rachel, and visited the Mission, and the creek. Then to top it off, we stuffed our faces with made to order ice cream sandwiches.
Last day in CA. Said good-bye to the sunshine at the Dinosaur caves park.
More New Years Eve.
